This weekend was a busy one. As I mentioned on Friday, Kev and I were out of town with some cool students from our church. We had an awesome time, but we were a bit more sleep-deprived than usual and by the time we picked up the kids and brought them home, we were all worn out!
At 8 o’clock on the dot, I plopped myself on the couch to do what anyone in my position would do…watch reality TV for 2 hours…Sean and Catherine’s Wedding! I thought it was a beautiful ceremony and I really enjoyed tuning in. They may have gone a little overboard with all the talk of the wedding night and the honeymoon suite cam, but that’s ABC for you.
Sorry for those of you who could care less about my Bachelor viewing…this will be short and sweet.
Here are my 4 reasons why Sean Lowe is the best bachelor of all time.
1. He is the real deal.
Obviously, I don’t know the guy in real life so he could be fooling me completely, but from what I’ve seen of and read about him, he practices what he preaches. He’s been consistent the entire time he was on reality TV, which is saying something. So often we hear the contestants say they want to find true love, but after they are off the show, we see they are anything but ready to be married. Not the case with Sean Lowe, in my opinion.
2. His mother and father are the sweetest things ever.
I loved Sean’s parents from the first time I saw them when he was on The Bachelorette. They seemed like such nice people back then and I only fell in love with them more as we watched Sean’s season on The Bachelor unfold. They seem like a genuine family unashamedly living out their faith, which I think is so refreshing. Sean’s dad did a fantastic job officiating the wedding and after last night, I’m having a hard time believing Sean’s mom is actually old enough to be a grandmother. She looked stunning!
3. He didn’t let the “fame” of being on the show go to his head.
I was nervous when he decided to do Dancing with the Stars because I was afraid he’d be sucked into Hollywood and go against his claims of having no desire for fame. But, when the show was over, he moved back home in order to get back to his normal life {or as normal a life as he’ll have from here on out}. Perhaps it’s his faith or his family, but it seems like this guy has kept a pretty level head throughout the whole experience.
4. His sister is a super fun blogger.
It’s no secret that I love reading blogs, so it was so fun to find Sean’s sister’s blog back when he was on The Bachelor. Shay has a fun lifestyle/family blog, but also has a foodie blog with fun and easy recipes that are perfect for a mom on the go. I’ve actually emailed her a couple of times for blog advice/questions and she’s so good about responding, which is not always the case with blogs that have a large following {I’m imagining her page views are pretty crazy}! Her kids are pretty darn cute too, which you probably saw if you watched the wedding. They were the ring bearer and flower girl. 🙂
So there you have it! I highly doubt that another bachelor will take over Sean Lowe’s place in my history book as the best bachelor. It could happen, but I’m doubtful. With some of the leads they’ve had recently such as Ben and Juan Pablo, it’s looking like Sean will be holding his own for quite some time. And if they keep selecting leads like them, they may just loose this long-time Bachelor fan after all!
If so, what did you think?

I don't really watch much TV anymore so I haven't seen the Bachelor in years!!…it is MLP for Karlena or Disney DVD's when the TV is on. I sneak in my Say Yes to the Dress on a Friday when Dominic has to work late! 😉

I know what you mean, Kristin! The Bachelor and Shark Tank are really the only shows I watch on a regular basis. There's just no time to watch a lot of TV and quite frankly, not a whole lot of good shows out there. What happened to shows like The Cosby Show and Full House? 🙂
