I know that this is 2 days late, but I didn’t want the occasion to pass me by without any sort of post. The picture to your left was taken 7 years ago, on July 19, 2003. It’s hard to believe that we just celebrated 7 years of marriage!
We decided to celebrate our anniversary this past Friday night since it fell on a Monday this year. After work on Friday, we packed a small bag and headed downtown! We wanted to “get away” for a night but didn’t want to spend too much money.
We started out at a nice restaurant in town – not the most expensive in town, but definitely more expensive than Subway or our usual spots -lol! If you’re ever in Richmond, you must check out Comfort. Just like the name, the entrees are Southern Comfort food, and it’s yummy! We have only eaten there once before, so it was a nice treat! We enjoyed the meal and even split some dessert. Their banana pudding is to die for!!
After our meal, we headed over to our hotel for the evening. We got a good rate on Priceline, so it wasn’t too bad. We enjoyed our night and got to enjoy all the cable we wanted – what a treat! Since we don’t have cable at home, it doesn’t take much to please us!!
We slept in as late as we wanted and enjoyed a nice breakfast the following morning. Our sleep was interrupted slightly on Saturday morning around 2am when an intoxicated young man decided to beat on our door. We finally had to call the front desk to get security to escort him out when he wouldn’t stop – crazy! Other than that, it was a great night.
I was so pleased at how nice the breakfast was – I told Kevin that something must be wrong because you don’t normally get complimentary breakfasts as good as what we had. We found out shortly that it was definitely not complimentary when the waiter put our tab on the table. Oooooops! It was worth it though. You only celebrate your anniversary once a year!
I’m so thankful for these past 7 years with Kevin. When I look back at that picture from our wedding day, I see 2 babies who were hopeful and anxious for what the Lord had in store for our lives together. Not that we’re especially old or anything, but we’ve certainly been through a lot in these 7 years. There have been ups and downs, but I in the midst of it, the Lord has cemented the two of us together in such a deep way. I can’t imagine “doing life” with anyone else. I love you, Kev! Happy anniversary!
My life says
