To say that life around here has been busy would be an understatement. If you are friends with me on Facebook, you probably already know that we have officially put our house up on the market. Crazy, I know! And let’s just say that putting your house on the market is one way to get those “honey do’s” marked off your list!!
It all started out with me doing a random search a couple of weeks ago on Realtor.com. Kevin and I periodically check to see what is out there! That day, I spotted a cheap house that appeared to have lots of potential from the pictures (Translation: It needs a lot of cosmetic work to update it but is very much liveable). We have seen the house 4 times at this point, which prompted us to put our house on the market and make an offer just last week. This house still has lots of potential and is still cheap for the area, but when the sellers weren’t willing to install new appliances or give us any money off the price for appliances, it made us take a step back.
We are still looking around to see what deals we might be able to find and our house is still very much on the market, but we are slowing things down a bit and seeing what all is out there besides the original house that motivated all this craziness! It’s not like we can really do too much without an offer on our house anyway, so there is no need for us to get our hopes up on homes that may not even be available if and when we get an offer on ours.
We have always been very aware that God would have to provide in a miraculous way for us to be able to get a larger home that would keep our mortgage within our current budget. There just is no room to increase our payment, so the Lord has a huge opportunity to show us one way or the other where He wants us.
At the end of the day, we could end up staying put right where we are, which would be fine. We have always said that we would only move if the Lord provided a way and we want to be content wherever He has us, even if it is in a 1197 square foot house (I actually thought it was smaller than that but we got the official square footage when we had our house appraised before pricing it). 🙂
So, we are putting this all in His mighty and capable hands. On a side note, our realtor has been absolutely fabulous. It’s a wonderful thing when your realtor prays with you through the entire process – both over the phone and in person when visiting homes. If you are in the Richmond area and are looking for a home, email me and I will share her contact information!
I’ll keep you all posted! Especially if we end up with a fixer upper! That would give me lots of blogging material!

I will be praying about this..I know it was a crazy deal for us and when our house sold quick and we found a new one we really felt God's leading! But it is scary and fun all at the same time too! Can you believe our girls are almost a year old?! I seriously can't remember where the time has gone!! Hope you are having a wonderful day!!

Haha! I have to laugh. The first time my husband and I put a house on the market and all those "honey-do's" were marked off the list, I didn't want to move anymore! But we did. *sigh*! 🙂
