If you are anything like me, you cringe when they ask you whether you want paper or plastic at the grocery store. Most of the time, I have TONS of both types and don’t need either of them. {I totally need to invest in more reusable bags at some point}.
We use our paper bags for our recycling and we use our plastic bags for lunches, small trash bags, or smelly diapers, but we still end up with way too many of them. Not only that, but it can be difficult to know how to store the ones we do want to reuse. If you’re not careful, your plastic bags can end up like this. What a mess!
Being that we’ve had at least 1 child in diapers since 2009, we also tend to accumulate lots of baby wipes containers*. I try to buy the ones that come in the bags with the flip-top lid*, but we always seem to end up with at least a few plastic containers lying around the house.
So, when I saw this post on reusing baby wipes containers a couple of years back, I jumped at the opportunity to give this a try. Talk about a perfect way to kill two birds with one stone. It worked wonderfully and we have these all over our house now.
Directions:
1. Stick a plastic bag into the baby wipe container with the handles sticking up.
2. Take another empty plastic bag and loop it through the handles of the original bag.
3. Stuff the bottom of the new bag down into the container, leaving the handles out.
4. Repeat this until you stuff in as many bags as you can fit!!
When you are ready to grab a plastic bag, all you need to do is open the lid and pull the handles. The next bag will pop up behind it and be ready to go for next time. It’s genius, I’m telling you!
These are great for your bathrooms, bedrooms, next to your diaper station, in your car, or maybe even near your dog’s leash so they are at your disposal when you need a litter bag. It’s a great way to re-use things for a super practical purpose.
How do you keep your plastic bags neat and tidy?

I taught preschool at a daycare and had very limited cupboard space. I used this method to store the MANY bags I needed daily. It works great!!!!

I'm so sorry about not having the social sharing buttons – that's a great idea! I'm slowly sprucing up my blog, but hadn't gotten to that yet! In the meantime, my images should all be "pinnable" if you are active on Pinterest. Let me know if you have problems with that option! Thanks for stopping by – I love Ruth's Thrifty Thursday link-up!

They've really come in handy – we keep them in the car, up in Brady's room for diapers, and in the bathrooms for trash bags! Gotta love repurposing! 🙂

I have to say I bought one of those cute fancy wipes cases when I had my first daughter so I could hide that ugly plastic case.
