Meeting MawMaw and PawPaw

February 1, 2011 by Sarah

Kevin’s parents recently came to visit us and to meet Savannah!  They left last Tuesday, after a very nice visit.  They had originally booked flights for the Tuesday after Savannah was born, but Kevin’s dad ended up needing back surgery to remove a bulging disk, so they had to postpone their trip.  The timing really worked out well.  Although they wanted to be here closer to Savannah’s arrival, I think we were all able to enjoy the visit more since we are a little more settled.

We didn’t do much of anything outside of our 4 walls, but it was nice to spend time with them and I certainly enjoyed the extra help during the day.  Kevin had to work the entire week since he has already taken off so much time.  Most of their time was spent doing this.

And this…..

And this…..

And this…..

They both spoiled Savannah rotten, but I guess that’s what grandparents are supposed to do, right?  Other than a couple meals out, a couple trips to Target, we mostly stayed in where it was nice and warm.  Kevin had to work the week they were here, so it was up to Savannah and I to entertain them.  Luckily, the main attraction did a fantastic job, so I was off the hook!  🙂  Kevin and his father did work on a project on the weekend – we now have a new storm door on the back of our house!  It looks great and we are so thrilled!!  My father-in-law always manages to squeeze in a project whenever they come to visit!

While they were here, we were introduced to Skype.  We’d heard of it before, but never logged on ourselves.  We now have a webcam and are set up, so we can Skype with MawMaw and PawPaw in the future when they are home in Mississippi!  It should be fun!
