Quick Update

January 28, 2011 by Sarah

Believe it or not, we are still here!  I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve posted.  But then again, we’ve been a little busy and we’re also having major computer issues so time on the internet has been limited.  Our laptop has a nasty virus, so we’re in the process of figuring out whether to invest in a new computer or spend money to clean it up.  We shall see.

Things at the Eddins compound are going pretty well.  We’re still adjusting to life with a newborn and enjoying our sweet Savannah.  Despite my feeling utterly clueless as to what I’m doing, she seems to be thriving.  As I mentioned in previous posts, nursing was a struggle, but we seem to be in a pretty good groove at this point.  She had her 1-month well visit at the pediatrician this week (even though she was 6 weeks at that point – her pediatrician is very popular!) and he was so reassuring!  She weighed 9 lbs. 8 ozs, which puts her in the 25th percentile for weight.  She is in the 50th percentile for height.  I really was pleased with her pediatrician – we hadn’t seen him since the hospital, so it was nice to see him interact with her.  He was so sweet and was great with me as well.  He helped reassure me that we are doing well, which helps me feel more confident in what we are doing as her parents.  She did have to get her second hepatitis shot, although I think it was harder on me than her.  She cried for a couple minutes but was a real trooper.

Overall, things here with us are going well.  Being a mom to a living child is a lot harder than I could have ever imagined, but she is totally worth it (that may be an entirely different post for another day)!

Hey Sarah, have you done a system restore? That worked for Todd's when he had a virus. I can walk you thru it or come by Weds after my dental appt. and help.

She is such a beautiful baby! I can hardly believe she is already 6 weeks old! Wow! Shots are always the hardest part of check-ups for me. Harrison is always over it faster than I am! Kids are such troopers!
