More to Come

January 3, 2014 by Sarah

Happy New Year!

We celebrated the New Year in our comfy clothes on the couch in Kev’s parents house in Mississippi.  Fancy, huh?  It was my first time ringing in the new year in the central time zone and it was sort of odd watching the ball drop in NYC knowing that we still had another hour to go.  We drank some sparkling cider and then we all went to bed!  🙂

I would have posted yesterday, but I didn’t want to spend too much time on the computer when I knew it was our last full day with Kev’s family.  We’ve had such a wonderful visit with everyone and so wish it could have been longer.  It’s always bittersweet to head back home because we never know exactly when we’ll see everyone again.  We typically visit at least once a year {and typically his family comes to see us once}, so it’s a long time between visits.

We’ve spent a good portion of the day in the car and are spending the night in a motel that isn’t going to be getting good reviews from us, but we’re making the best of it.  We hope to be home safely tomorrow afternoon and I’m planning to post more about our trip then.

One good thing about long car trips is that you get lots of time to think and talk.  I had my yellow pad with me and jotted down some possible goals for 2014.  I love thinking and planning ahead…it keeps me moving forward and I’m a planner by nature.   But, I’m also slowly learning not to bite off more than I can chew so I want my goals to be realistic and achievable.  I’ll share them with you once I’ve finalized them.  Hopefully, the 6 hour drive home tomorrow will be another good brainstorming session.

More to come once we get settled back in at home.  Until then!

Do you make resolutions or set goals at the beginning of each year?
