Favorite Things Party – February

February 19, 2014 by Sarah

I know I’m a little late to the party, but better late then never!  I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika again for their Favorite Things Party.  Let’s just say that I’ve been catching up on some Downton Abbey the past couple of evenings and I may have gotten a little carried away.

I decided it was time I bring something other than food to the party this month.  I’m somewhat embarrassed that my past few favorite things have been food-related.  🙂  You can see those posts HERE, HERE, and HERE.

This month I decided to share my newest addition to my makeup regimen.  I have been trying some new makeup and wanted to share my new Cover Girl concealer with you.

COVER GIRL Smoothers Concealer Neutralizer 730
I purchased mine a few weeks ago at CVS, but it’s showing up at Amazon and other online retailers as well for around $7.00.  Since I always go to CVS with coupons and ECB’s in hand, I’m pretty sure I spent less on it, but I don’t remember exactly.

I’ve been on the hunt for a new concealer for some time now.  I had been using one from a direct sales company that I used to work with, but when I stopped selling it I decided to try something different.  I had never been totally sold on it because it was pretty thick.
The last concealer I bought was the total opposite.  It was too thin and didn’t seem to have enough coverage where I needed it.  I don’t have dark circles necessarily, but I do like to lighten up the area under my eyes before applying any makeup.

This concealer seems to be just right for me and I am loving it so far.  It’s thick enough that I feel like I have a little coverage, but it’s not so thick that I feel like my makeup looks to heavy when I put it on over it.  I use it mostly under my eyes, but I’ve used it on the occasional blemish and it works well for them too.

I’m somewhat on a mission to find some great drugstore makeup, so perhaps I’ll share some others next time!

I usually buy all CoverGirl, but recently splurged on a concealer because the Small Thing blog recommended it. It's no miracle concealer so I should have just stuck to CG! 🙂

I hear ya! It's so hard b/c every person's skin is different. I used a CG concealer before, but this particular one is a keeper for me! One thing I like about CVS is they will let you return them if you aren't satisfied. I've never actually taken them up on it but it's nice to know they offer it!! 🙂

I'm actually cleaning/dusting the ceiling fan in our guest room. I saw this tip years ago and I've been doing it ever since, although probably not as often as I should! 🤪

Snag an old pillowcase and drag it off each blade so the dust stays inside of it. Then, wash it in your next laundry load for easy clean up!

This is where the meal magic happens in our house. This is where the meal magic happens in our house. Don't ever let anyone convince you that you have to have a large (and often expensive) kitchen in order to feed your family.

Is there anything wrong with a large and expensive kitchen? Nope!

Can they be helpful? Absolutely!

This house was built in the 1940s and likely housed a family our size, or maybe larger. It's amazing to think how our concept of wants and needs have changed since then.

Maybe someday we'll have a larger kitchen, but for now, I'm thankful that this small kitchen allows me to have everything at my fingertips quickly! 😁
"The answer to the purposelessness and hollowness "The answer to the purposelessness and hollowness we feel is found not in us but outside of us. The solutions to our problems and pain aren't found in self-love, but in God's love.

The God who created us, who created the universe, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, is the one who provides us with the purpose and satisfaction we're seeking. While self love depletes, God's love for us doesn't. He showed us his love by sending Jesus to die for our sins so that we could be forgiven and live forever with him. Self-love is superficial and temporary. God's love is profound and eternal."

"The first myth that you are enough. My counter was this: you're not you'll never be enough, and that's okay, because God is."
