How to Watch Hallmark Movies without Cable
There are options for every pricepoint and some of these are less than your average Starbucks drink!
HMNow
Hallmark Movies Now is Hallmark Channel’s own streaming service for $5.99 per month ($4.99 annually). They offer a free 7-day trial and the monthly subscription can be cancelled at any time.
Some of the supported devices include: Roku players, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, or Kindle Fire.
Pros: low price, no contract, free trial, commercial free
Cons: older movies
I tried this out last summer and it’s a great option if you don’t mind missing out on the newer released movies.
Frndly TV
Frndly TV is a newer streaming service that offers 12 live and on-demand channels (all 3 Hallmark channels are included) for a low monthly price starting at $5.99. They offer a classic and premium option with a few extra features, such as DVR recording capabilities, for a couple dollars more.
You can enjoy a free 7-day trial and the monthly subscription can be cancelled at any time. Save 15% if you sign up for the annual subscription.
The supported devices include: Apple, Android, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Chromecast.
Pros: low price, no contract, 12 channels, free trial
Cons: few channels, commercials
I have been paying for this service for about a week and have had a great experience so far. I have a feeling that I’ll end up keeping my subscription long after the Christmas season ends.
Philo TV
If you are looking for a cable alternative that offers Hallmark (all 3 of them!), then Philo TV is a good option. For $20, you have access to 58 channels both live and on-demand.
You can begin your free 7-day trial with only your cell number. You’ll need to enter your payment info after 2 days to continue, but you can cancel at any time.
The supported devices include: iPhone and iPad, Android phones & tablets, Android TV, Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV
Pros: no contract, free trial, 58 channels, cheaper than cable
Cons: not available on Chromecast
I tried Philo TV out for 2 days and it is a good cable alternative. If you are looking for more channels but with a more affordable cost than other streaming services, then Philo TV might be for you.
Sling
Sling is another cable alternative, although packages start a little higher at $25 per month (they are offering 40% off the first month). In order to view the Hallmark Channels, you’ll need to add the Lifestyle Extra, for an additional $5 per month. Depending on the base package you select, you would get up to 50 channels live and on-demand, which is still a great selection.
Their website doesn’t currently offer a free trial option, but you can cancel service at anytime so there is no risk in trying it out.
The supported devices include: Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Air TV Player, and iPhone and Android
Pros: packages to choose from, can customize with extras for a small fee, no contracts
Cons: no free trial, Hallmark channels are not part of the base packages
While I haven’t tried this personally, this is a popular option that has some great customization options.
The huge cost of cable no longer has to keep you from enjoying the Hallmark Channel. Cut the cord, save money, and still indulge in your favorite Hallmark movies. The lineup looks great!
