This simple custom DIY picture frame was a cinch and is the perfect addition to my daughter’s desk.

It’s been over a year since we moved our girl into her own bedroom and I cannot believe I’m still chipping away at it. Since she’d been sharing a room with her brother, we started from scratch. It’s taking me a lot longer to tackle all the little details of the space.
In the past, I’ve had a bad habit of not finishing a room completely (my living room only has 1 picture on the walls and has no window treatment). I’m determined to get her space completely decorated and styled yet is functional and suits our girl’s needs perfectly!
After seeing how the desk makeover turned out, I really wanted to add some fun little accessories to finish it off. I decided we needed a cute little picture frame. When I couldn’t find something that tied in with our color scheme, I decided that I could just as easily customize one myself.
Today’s super simple custom DIY picture frame project is so quick and easy that I’m not even sure that it justifies its own post. I’m sharing anyway because I was excited about how it turned out. I’m not crafty by nature so when I make anything and it turns out, I get a little giddy!
I snagged a basic white frame at Marshalls, but it was boring needed some color and excitement. (I could have snagged one second-hand and painted it myself to save a little money). Off to Hobby Lobby I went, where I stumbled upon the cutest little paper flowers that came in purple and aqua colors which coordinate perfectly with our color scheme.
Since I don’t trust myself to improvise, I laid them all out before I even plugged up the hot glue gun. I needed a plan (can you tell I’m type A?)! Once I had them placed, I just glued them on one at a time. It took me 10 minutes and it was DONE!
The options are endless with how you could customize a DIY picture frame using a hot glue gun, but I’m loving how this one turned out. And I especially love the sweet girl riding the pony in that picture!
Thank you for following along with my daughter’s bedroom makeover! If you missed any of the previous posts, you can catch them here:
