Simply Beautiful

October 16, 2009 by Sarah

Thanks to all of you who lit candles yesterday in honor of our son, Andrew, as well as the other babies who are deeply missed. As a mother without her child here, it means the world that they are remembered. We appreciate the continued prayers and support.

I don’t have anything major to share tonight, but I did want to post some of my favorite pictures of our little guy. I was looking through them again tonight and was struck with emotion. He’s simply beautiful. I know all parents say that about their children and we’re no different.

I was thanking the Lord earlier today for the wonderful time I had carrying Andrew. I vividly remember soaking in the bath tub the morning before our doctor’s appointment when we got the terrible news. I was praying for the upcoming labor delivery and just thanking the Lord for blessing me with Andrew. I distinctly remember telling God how grateful I was for the nine months I had to get to know my little boy. I had no clue at that time that Andrew was probably already in heaven.

For any pregnant moms out there reading this, please treasure every second of your pregnancy. I know the heartburn, constant urination, hemorrhoids, and stretch marks may not be fun, but they are truly a gift. Soak up every kick and squirm, enjoy that closeness (even if it means you’re constantly out of breath), and be grateful. I’m stepping off my soap box now, I promise! 🙂
