Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day 2009

October 14, 2009 by Sarah

For those who may not be aware, October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day (as well as my dad’s birthday – love you lots Dad!!). Please feel free to check out this website www.october15th.com. Before losing Andrew, I had no idea such a day existed, but as a grieving parent, I’m grateful that it does. I yearn to find more ways to honor our son as well as the other little babies who have gone to heaven far sooner than we would have liked.

I hate that we’re now one of the statistics out there concerning pregnancy and infant loss, and I know the enemy wants us to dwell on that. Luckily, I serve a MIGHTY GOD and my identity is in him, not in my circumstance. Andrew is not just a statistic, he is a beautiful creation, leaving behind a beautiful legacy. I’m so thankful for him!

I’d encourage you to light a candle on October 15th at 7pm in your time zone to create a wave of light in memory of your child/children that you have lost, or in honor of someone else who has lost a child due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death.

If you feel comfortable sharing, would you mind leaving a comment on my blog letting me know who you will be remembering tomorrow?

I will be remembering my son, Andrew Ryan. I will also be remembering my older sibling, who was lost to miscarriage and my friends’ babies who were lost to miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant death.

I will be remembering Andrew, of course:) I will also be remembering the stillbirth son of my friend Jess, who just discovered she was pregnant again-believe it or not-about an hour before I read the news about Andrew on Zack's Facebook. Blessings to you Sarah and Happy Birthday to your dad:)

Sarah, I will be lighting a candle for your precious Andrew, and for my first pregnancy which ended in miscarriage. I believe GOD is good though, as I wouldn't have Brennan here today if that pregnancy had continued. He had a plan for me, and he has a plan for you as well. 🙂
