Savannah’s Top 10 List

September 4, 2013 by Sarah

Today I’m linking up with Megan for Midweek Randoms!

One of the things I love most about this age with Savannah is hearing her talk.  Some people still have to look at me for translation, but it has been so fun to observe her speech develop from the very beginning.  It astounds me how much they learn just by listening!

I thought the other day about how I wanted to take more video clips of her talking because I don’t ever want to forget the sound of her sweet little voice.  While I still have intentions to do that, I wanted to at least take a moment to document some of the sayings I hear most during my days with our Savannah Girl {although she says her name is Vannah Eh-ins}.

Here is Savannah’s top 10 list {at 2.75 years} along with the translation.

#1.  No, Brady, No! =  Translation same.
I hear this when Savannah is trying to keep Brady from getting her toys.

#2.  I have that. = I want that.
I hear this when Savannah is taking a toy from Brady.

#3.  Brady, play wif dis. = Brady, you play with this.
I hear this when Savannah is taking a toy from Brady and replacing it with something else that she doesn’t want to play with.  Isn’t that nice?  πŸ™‚

#4.  Momma, I watch TV. = Momma, can I watch TV?
I hear this when Savannah wakes up in the morning and comes downstairs.

#5.  Momma, I wuv you. = Momma, I love you.
I hear this when Savannah randomly decides to melt my heart, but especially after I have given her a special snack or dessert that she enjoys.

#6.  I wear Ehwoah Titty Tat dess. = Can I wear my Hello Kitty dress?
I hear this when Savannah wakes up, has already asked to watch TV, and then wants to wear her favorite outfit.  She asks to wear it every.single.day!

#7.  Momma, I wake! = Momma, I’m awake!
I hear this when Savannah is boycotting sleep during nap/bedtime.

#8. Tinkew, tinkew wittew stah = Twinkle, twinkle, little star
I hear this when Savannah is singing.  She loves to sing it herself, but really loves when I sing with her.

#9. Dis my orange blosman = This is my Orange Blossom.
I hear this when Savannah is playing with her Strawberry Shortcake dolls.

#10. Momma, I wahn peanuh buddah jewwy. = Momma, I want peanut butter and jelly!
I hear this when Savannah is putting in her request for lunch.  Sometimes I oblidge and sometimes I don’t.  πŸ™‚

so, so, so sweet. and i completely agree with you! the sentences and phrases that come out of mollie's mouth astound me daily. i wish i could record all of them and hold them in my mind forever. of all the milestones, i have to say that the language development has been my favorite. it's incredibly interesting to me and shows that all of our reading and talking throughout the day has really paid off!

Yes! For so long I wondered if she understood anything I was saying, but clearly she was taking it all in. If I could do it all over again, I would love to major in child development or something like that. So interesting!

This is so precious! Our daughter turns 2 in a little less than a month, and we are noticing so many MORE things that she's saying now! It's such a fun time! πŸ™‚

Thanks, Miranda! It really is so much fun! I remember days when it was mostly quiet at home {other than crying} and really looked forward to this phase, so I'm enjoying it now that it's here. I love that we can have toddler conversations now! πŸ™‚
