Today I decided to join Courtney over at Lil Light O’ Mine for her One Big Truth link up. When I saw some of the posts, I just knew I wanted to participate.
It’s so encouraging to see what God has been up to in the lives of ordinary women who struggle just like you and me. If we aren’t careful, we will believe the lies rather than the truths that God has revealed to us. Feel free to join up too {even if you don’t blog, you can link up via Twitter or Instagram}.
Here’s one of the things I’ve been struggling with lately.
“I don’t accomplish enough as a stay-at-home mom.”
If I’m not careful, I can let the status of my to-do dictate my sense of accomplishment as a stay-at-home mom.
The truth is…
“Loving on and raising children is a HUGE accomplishment.”
When I worked outside of the home, I felt a sense of accomplishment at the end of the workday. I had tangible evidence of the work I had done each day. Even if I was dog-tired, it felt good to see the fruits of my labor.
Since leaving the workforce and following God’s call for me to be a stay-at-home mother, it has sometimes been a struggle to see the benefits of all the work I do. On days when I can barely accomplish one task on my to-do list, it can be frustrating.
But, in recent weeks, the Lord has really freed me from the to-do list and reminded me that just being with my children is my primary goal at this point. I’ve felt such freedom and have had some wonderful moments just sitting on the floor playing with the children.

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Psalm 127:3
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

What is one thing you’ve been struggling with and what is the one big truth the Lord has revealed to you?

I'm glad you didn't yell, because then I would have felt bad if it woke your kids – ha! 🙂 Thanks for hosting the link up. I haven't had a chance to look through all of them, but the ones I did were such an encouragement. There's something so wonderful about knowing we don't struggle alone and being reminded that God is still revealing His truth to us! 🙂

As a fellow stay at home mom all I have to say is "Amen!"

Thanks, Natasha! I had a feeling I wasn't the only stay-at-home mom that feels this way sometimes. 🙂
