Frugal Fashion Friday – Snuggle-y Sweater Edition

October 11, 2013 by Sarah

I went back and forth about what to post today.  It’s been one of those dreary weeks when I probably wore my Mom uniform {you know what I mean – black stretch pants, t-shirt, and some sort of pullover} more this week than actual clothes.  I had planned on skipping out on the outfit post this week since I didn’t have much to show to you guys {yeah, it was that bad – ha!}, but then it hit me.

I haven’t broken out my snuggle-y sweater!  This has been the perfect week to wear it, but I hadn’t even thought about it.  So sad :-(…until now!  ðŸ™‚  It’s nothing special really, but it is probably one of the most comfy sweaters I own!  I loved it so much when I bought it last year that I even got it in cream.

I’m headed out tonight to spend the evening with some awesome students from our church, so I needed to get out of my Mommy uniform anyway.  I decided it was the perfect time to wear something super comfy, yet still try to look somewhat put together.

I decided to wear my navy blue/white striped shirt underneath the navy blue comfy goodness of my sweater.  When I looked at Kev’s first picture, I thought it needed some more color, so I added my orange scarf.  As I said, it’s dreary and wet, so the scarf adds even more snuggle factor!  ðŸ™‚

Since wet days also call for boots, I decided to break them out as well and wear my skinny jeans yet again.  These are my only pair of knee-high boots {gasp!}, but I am on the hunt for some cognac colored knee-high boots that are in my price range.  I think the color contrast would have looked better {and also not blended in with my runner – ha!}

I like to wear my snuggle-y sweater open, but it does have a sash that can tie around your waist if you want.  I just keep it tied up in the back so it can be worn open.  I tried to get a picture from the back, but it was just a sea of navy blue and wasn’t helpful.  Sorry!

Here’s the breakdown on the outfit:
(prices are shown if I can remember :-))

******************************
Navy blue/white striped t-shirt: Old Navy – $15
Navy Blue Sweater:  Old Navy – $30
Skinny jeans:  Old Navy – $25
Boots:  JCPenney – $30
Scarf:  Old Navy – $7.50
Earrings: Target – $5
******************************
Well, there you have it.  It’s nothing fancy, but when I want to be warm and comfy, this is definitely a go-to outfit.  Like I said, I’m just wishing I had pulled the sweater out earlier this week!

Do you have a favorite snuggly sweater that you wear when it’s wet and yucky outside?
