Christmas 2014 Recap

December 30, 2014 by Sarah

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, celebrating with family and friends or in some other meaningful way.  For me, Christmas is not only a time to spend with those I love the most, but it’s a time to remember and celebrate the most beautiful gift of all, the birth of Christ.
We spent the holiday with my family up in Baltimore and since it fell on a Thursday, we were able to really enjoy the days leading up to it as well.  We did some last minute shopping, but mostly just enjoyed being together and some of the festivities of the holiday.  I really tried to soak it all in, so I didn’t even take as many pictures as I would have liked.
One evening, we went over to the local mall that sets up this really nice train garden each year.  The kids loved looking at the massive train display and we let them spend some time in one of the toy stores playing with the wooden trains as well.
On Christmas Eve day, Kev was determined to let the kids sit on Santa’s lap.  I’m honestly not one who talks up Santa all that much, but it seemed important to Kev.  He was definitely on a mission.  The line wasn’t all that long and it turned out to be a fun little outing.  We made it through the event with no tears being shed.
Later that night, we went to church for Christmas Eve service.  I was excited to get the kids dressed up a little bit and completely forgot to snap any photos.  It was a nice service and the kids did great sitting in “big church.”
My sister and her family came over to my parent’s house early on Christmas morning so that we could all open presents together.  It was fun to watch everyone open their gifts.
I was pleasantly surprised by my sweet niece, who decided to take her own gift cards and use them to buy me a new Keurig machine.  This girl is quite the giver…just like her mama.  It was so generous of her and I know I’ll love using it!
This little guy thoroughly enjoyed his very first Christmas, even though he didn’t open up a single gift.  There were some gifts for him anyway, but he wouldn’t have known otherwise.  He is such a sweet blessing to us.
I hope your Christmas was a great one!
