Friday Favorites – 3/20

March 20, 2015 by Sarah

Happy Friday!

I have to be honest, this week has been heavy.  I heard some heart breaking news about a friend on Monday and the news hit very close to home.  My thoughts and prayers have been with this friend the entire week and remembering back to those early days of my own very raw grief has been hard.

Despite that, I thought it would be fun to post about some of my favorites from this week.  End the week on a lighter note, ya know?

So, here are a few of my favorite things that I wanted to share with you.

ITEM IN MY FRIDGE

Marzetti’s Simply Dressed Strawberry Poppyseed dressing

Towards the end of last week, I got this craving for a big, fruity salad.  I took matters into my own hands and headed straight to Kroger to pick up what I needed to make it {grilled chicken, strawberries, Craisens, nuts, and feta cheese}.  I normally shop the sales, clip my coupons, and make sure to stay within budget, but I lost all my inhibitions and totally went for it.  This dressing was so worth the splurge and really made the salad total perfection!  GET SOME!

PIECE(S) OF JEWELRY FOR SPRING/SUMMER

Women’s Statement Necklace – Gold/Coral
Women's Statement Necklace - Coral/Gold (18")
I’ve had my eye on THIS necklace for months now.  Now that I have some birthday money burning a hold in my pocket, I made a beeline for the jewelry section when I was at Target today and was so sad that they no longer had it in the store.  I’m so excited that it’s still online and it’s currently in my shopping cart.

Women’s Fashion Necklace – Silver/Mint

I did spot THIS cute thing though!  I am loving mint green for spring and this needs to be mine.  Also in my shopping cart, but I may just buy it at my local store.  I’m not sure I can wait long enough for it to ship to me.

SPRING OUTFIT IDEA
Pinterest Told Me To Wear Orange, White, Denim, and Leopard.......Pinterest is So Dang Smart.

I haven’t really thought a whole lot about clothes these days, mostly because I’m a little bummed that I haven’t done much with any of this baby weight that I need to loose.  But, when I saw THIS super cute outfit on a fun fashion blog that I follow, I knew it was “pin-worthy.”  I’m not sure how these hips will do in some white jeans, but I’m loving the look and hope to try it out for myself soon!

MOMENT WITH THE BIG GIRL

Savannah is growing up so much that is makes me want to freeze time.  So, when she wakes up from “rest time” and wants to snuggle with me, I try to take total advantage.  She loves ballet so much that she wanted to sleep in her outfit.

MOMENT WITH THE MIDDLE GUY

This middle guy has been a total hoot lately.  In the past couple of months, I feel like his little personality has just exploded.  I’ve seen the strong-willed side for quite some time, but I’m seeing more and more of his silly and funny side.  Even folks from church have commented that he’s much more talkative.  The kids were watching Frozen the other day and Brady was getting a total kick out of the Mickey cartoon that plays at the very end of the DVD. I wish I could have gotten this at a better angle.  Good ole Mickey slapstick cartoons…gotta love ’em!

MOMENT WITH THE LITTLEST GUY

Since I have fewer opportunities for one-on-one time with Davis, I try to seize them when I can.  This picture was during “rest time” for the older ones.  I had just fed him and he was chilling on the floor when I decided to lay on my side next to him.  I propped him up on his side and we just flirted with each other.  It was so priceless.

I'm actually cleaning/dusting the ceiling fan in our guest room. I saw this tip years ago and I've been doing it ever since, although probably not as often as I should! 🤪

Snag an old pillowcase and drag it off each blade so the dust stays inside of it. Then, wash it in your next laundry load for easy clean up!

This is where the meal magic happens in our house. This is where the meal magic happens in our house. Don't ever let anyone convince you that you have to have a large (and often expensive) kitchen in order to feed your family.
.
Is there anything wrong with a large and expensive kitchen? Nope!
.
Can they be helpful? Absolutely!
.
This house was built in the 1940s and likely housed a family our size, or maybe larger. It's amazing to think how our concept of wants and needs have changed since then.
.
Maybe someday we'll have a larger kitchen, but for now, I'm thankful that this small kitchen allows me to have everything at my fingertips quickly! 😁
"The answer to the purposelessness and hollowness "The answer to the purposelessness and hollowness we feel is found not in us but outside of us. The solutions to our problems and pain aren't found in self-love, but in God's love.

The God who created us, who created the universe, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, is the one who provides us with the purpose and satisfaction we're seeking. While self love depletes, God's love for us doesn't. He showed us his love by sending Jesus to die for our sins so that we could be forgiven and live forever with him. Self-love is superficial and temporary. God's love is profound and eternal."

"The first myth that you are enough. My counter was this: you're not you'll never be enough, and that's okay, because God is."
