Flex Day – Day 7

December 6, 2015 by Sarah

Welcome!

This is Day 7 of the 21 Days to a Stress Free & Debt Free Christmas.

I’m so excited that you are joining me for what I hope will be a really helpful series designed to walk with you step by step through the Christmas season in a way that ensures you keep your sanity and that you don’t overspend.

Today is a special day!  While I’m all about setting deadlines and goals in order to keep myself organized and on track at the holidays, life HAPPENS!  So, today is a built in FLEX DAY!

It is completely up to you how you utilize your flex day, but here are some options for you.

1.  Get caught up from earlier in the week

Set some goals for this Christmas

Determine your budget

Organize your calendar and create a short bucket list

Make a decision about Christmas cards.  Schedule dates for any photos you are going to have taken.  Pick a deadline for when you will have your cards ordered, addressed, and mailed out and mark it on your calendar.

Schedule time for your decorating.  Assess what you have and what you will need.  Pick a deadline for you to complete your decorating.

Make your Christmas gift list & schedule some shopping days on your calendar

2.  Evaluate how you are doing so far

With week 1 under your belt, it might be helpful to sit down (with your spouse, if you are married) and review how you are doing.  Pull out your goals list and ask one another if you are making progress on them.  Ask yourself if there is anything you can do in order to make it more likely you achieve them.

3.  Rest

Sometimes the best thing we can do is REST!  Feel free to take the day off from anything related to this Christmas series.  Perhaps your time would be better utilized to rest, plan a little for next week, and then get back to things at full force tomorrow.
