Homemade Glass Cleaner

Since it’s snowing outside and I’ve been busy this week with a teething baby (which means the house has taken a beating), I’ve gone into major cleaning mode.  As part of my January goals, I am trying to develop a cleaning routine but managed to get behind already.

As I was cleaning, I realized that I haven’t shared many of the recipes that I’m using to make some of my own household cleaners.  It’s been fun to try new ways of cleaning our home that are really affordable and don’t involve me remembering to pick them up at the grocery store.

I’m still experimenting with some of them, but I’ve been using this homemade glass cleaner for a while now and it’s been great, so I thought it was time to share with you.

Ingredients:

1/4 C. white vinegar

1/4 C. rubbing alcohol

1 T. corn starch

2 C.  warm water

Directions:

1.  Mix together all ingredients in a spray bottle*. (I try to get mine from Dollar Tree, if I can)

2.  Shake to dissolve the cornstarch. (FYI:  I have to shake my bottle every time I use it since the cornstarch settles.)

3.  Spray onto glass surfaces and wipe with a clean paper towel or rag.

The thing I love about this homemade class cleaner is that it does not leave streaks.  I have been using this glass cleaner for a while now and have been really pleased so far.  It works great on glass, windows, faucets, etc.
