I don’t mean to beat a dead horse with all this goals talk, but I think I may enjoy making monthly goals even more than yearly ones. There’s something about breaking down bigger goals into actionable items each month that helps me feel like I have a plan. Not only that, but there are still a ton of things that I’d like to get done outside of my yearly goals. That’s where monthly goals or to-do’s help.
Let’s jump right into January’s goals!
1. Have a date night with The Teacher
This is going to be a goal every single month this year, so you may get tired of seeing this one. This month we don’t have the budget for babysitters, but I’m excited that we already have an at- home date night scheduled on our calendar. We’re planning on ordering take out and watching a movie together.
2. Have a date with Brady
I have been craving some special one-on-one with this little guy. I’ve scheduled it on the calendar, but now I’m looking forward to figuring out some ideas for what we can do together. Maybe it’s time he and I check out a movie in the theater together?
3. Read Money Making Mom* by Crystal Paine
I am going to try hard to read through this book this month. It’s been sitting in my house ever since it was released, but I hate starting new books until I’ve finished one so I wasn’t ready until now. I am reading through some other books with other people, so I hope I can manage to get this one in too.
4. Create and test out my first cleaning routine schedule
I sat down and created a cleaning routine that I’m going to try for this month. I do lots of tidying up and spot cleaning, but I deep clean specific areas very randomly. I’m hoping my cleaning routine will help me keep keep on top of my housecleaning a little better. I’ll let you know how it goes!
5. Work on organizing my guest room
This room seems to be our “catch all” room and since we are still getting settled from Christmas, this room has taken a hit. I’m going to work on getting this room cleaned up and organized. I’ll do what I can!
6. Schedule doctor appointments for the kids
It’s no fun dragging kids to the doctor, but it’s important and needs to be done. Davis will be due for his 15 month check up soon and I’d like to schedule an appointment for Savannah with a specialist to look at a little “knot” on her belly button. She’s had it since birth and we aren’t worried, but a specialist should be able to tell us exactly what it is and whether it needs to be removed.
7. Look for scripture memory resources to begin using with our kids
This is another goal for 2016 but I’m not sure how to tackle it just yet. I’d like to do some research to figure out what verses would be good to start with and then try and get some strategies for helping us {I’m excited to do this with the kids} memorize them.
8. Try to find a devotional for moms with little ones
I’ve been craving a devotional book specifically designed for my stage of life. Oftentimes, my time reading the Bible is fairly short or interrupted {even during nap time, there can be interruptions}. I’d love to find a devotional that might suit my need for encouragement from God’s word and my current season.
