Saving money isn’t just about our spending habits. Obviously, the amount of money you spend is important, but I think that consumption is another huge way to save money.
Whether it’s eating up leftovers from dinner, hemming pants, or using up every last bit of toothpaste from the tube, sometimes saving money is as simple as using every last bit of what you already have or making what we have last as long as possible.
Today’s tip is about what you can do to salvage makeup once it’s been shattered. If you are anything like me, it happens more often than you’d like. The good news is that dropping your makeup doesn’t have to mean the end of it.
Colin from Hip2Save shows you how to fix broken makeup. It’s super simple – using only a couple of drops of rubbing alcohol to make it into a paste and then letting it dry overnight.
I gave this a try the other day when my blush was getting pretty bad. I dropped it a while ago and was just doing my best to use it up anyway, when I remembered that I had pinned Colin’s tutorial. So, I gave it a try and it worked beautifully. I’m guessing I can get at least another couple of weeks out of this, just by using this little fix.
(Updated as of 9/19/2016: I’ve used this same trick with powder foundation and it worked just as well. It’s such a great way to use up every last bit!)
