This week has been a whirlwind of a week. My daughter started kindergarten this week and our entire schedule has been turned upside down. This night owl is still getting used to being up and ready much earlier than I am used to and I’m still trying to get used to our new normal for this next year.
Our middle man heads back to preschool next week, so we should all be back into our fall routines soon! Needless to say, I’m late sharing my goals for the month!! (I was enjoying the last little bit of summer, so I decided to skip August altogether).
Here’s my plan for September goals
1. Date night with The Teacher
We haven’t had one since June, so we are in desperate need!
2. Get rid of kid’s clothes that we no longer need
I’m selling off as much as I can at an upcoming consignment sale, but I’m getting rid of anything left over that the kid’s no longer need and can’t be passed down. I have been selling items all along as these sales roll around, but I’m getting drastic this time. This stuff has got to go!
3. Buy the remaining items for the kid’s fall/winter wardrobes
I’m a list maker, so I’ve been busy seeing what we have already, what they need, and then what holes I need to fill. I get into trouble if I don’t have lists of exactly what they need. I’m looking forward to scoring some good deals on used and new clothes for them to wear this fall and winter!
4. Complete another project in Savannah’s room
I’ve come to realize that it’s going to take a good 6 months to completely finish Savannah’s room (we’ve painted the walls so far). I’m totally okay with it taking longer than I’d like, but I also want to make sure I’m making progress. I don’t know what the next project will be yet (maybe a lamp or painting her dresser?) for this month, but I’ll be sure to share on the blog!
5. Read Spark Joy* and skim The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up*
I’ve been decluttering the house using Marie Kondo’s method from her first book. I read the book back in May, but want to skim it again now that I’m actually working on each category. I want to read her second book titled Spark Joy* because I’ve heard it’s good as well. Stay tuned for my thoughts!
6. Determine new blogging hours
My blog hours used to be during nap time and then in the evenings, but that will have to change now. My gal gets off the bus in the middle of nap time and I’m trying to get to bed earlier (so I can be up earlier to get her off to school). I’ve got to brainstorm what will work best now that our schedule has changed a bit.
If time allows, I’d love to add #7 freezer cooking! I’m doubtful it will happen since the month is already underway and things are pretty busy this month. A girl can be dream, right? 🙂
There you have it. I’ll report back and let you know how I do.

Thank you for sharing Sarah! Setting goals monthly or anytime for that matter is something I really need to work on. And sharing it publicly is a really good way to make sure you follow through. Thank you for the idea! Keep it up because I’m learning a lot from you!

Thanks, Ria! I love setting goals, even when I may not get them all accomplished. They help me focus a bit when my mind feels busy and all over the place, if that makes sense! Have a great weekend! –Sarah 🙂
