Are We There Yet?

August 1, 2013 by Sarah

First off, thanks for those of you who commented on my outfit from yesterday’s post!  There weren’t any of you bold enough to give your feedback here on the blog, but I’m so thankful for those who did make comments over on my Facebook page {I’m planning to create a Facebook page for this blog so keep your eyes peeled for that}!  I’m thinking I may continue doing some posts like that because I genuinely loved hearing your ideas!  The consensus seemed to be that I needed a long necklace and that black goes with almost every bright color – good stuff!  Now, onto today…

Let’s just say that I was up way too late last night.  In fact, while you are reading this, I just might still be napping from staying up too late and getting up way too early!

But, it’s all for a good cause….because, WE’RE GOING TO CHARLESTON!

I am so pumped about this trip with my girlfriends!  I plan to take a ton of pictures and will fill you in on our fun time when I get back!  Since I had a ton of preparations for the trip, my day was pretty busy, but I did manage to get some extra snuggles in with the kids that I’m hoping will last me until I get back!

The funny is that the actual packing part took about 30 minutes or so.  Instead, I spent the vast majority of the day doing housework, trying to leave things in decent shape for Kev while I’m away.  I’m such a good wife, aren’t I?  🙂  I washed/folded/put away lots of laundry and did my best to straighten up before he and the kids tear it all to smithereens!  I can see it now, but at least I know what it looked like before I left it!

And then, there was this…

It was that time of the month!   Billy paying time, silly!  Kev gets paid once a month, so I sit down after his paycheck is deposited and go to town creating a budget and then paying all the bills!  Oh, and I always make sure to start off with a balanced checkbook…and I mean to.the.penny.  Yes, I can be a little O.C.D. when it comes to the checkbook.  Am I the only person who actually uses them these days?!

After I ran some other errands earlier this evening and packed my clothes {and yes, I now officially own the bathing suit from Target that I mentioned}, I sat on my living room floor and hammered this stuff out.  It took forever, but I always feel so much better going on a trip with the bills paid and checkbook balanced.  🙂

I’m hoping that Kev can oblige and help this tired lady out, so I left him a little note!  I just figure it’ll give him and the kids somewhere to go and the post office happens to be right behind a McDonald’s and across from a Chick-fil-A.  He’ll thank me later, really!

I am super excited about this stack of books that will reside in my travel/beach bag.  I’m hoping I can keep my stomach in check on the ride down and get some read on.  I have a tendency to get carsick when I read, so we’ll have to see how that goes.  If not while traveling, then I will definitely take advantage while we are lounging on the beach!  I can’t even type that sentence without getting giddy!!

Is it too soon to say, Are we there yet?!!
