My Countdown Begins

July 26, 2013 by Sarah

 This time next week I will be in Charleston, South Carolina!  {These pictures are to help me get even more excited…if that is even possible!}

To say that I am giddy about this trip with a couple of my girlfriends is a total understatement!  We planned it on the fly a couple of months ago when a couple of us were talking about how badly we needed to get away.  I’ve known I needed a trip like this for a while now, but just kept justifying all the reasons why I just couldn’t spend the money on it.

We have a family vacation coming up in a couple of weeks, which I know will be a complete blast, but I have realized very quickly in these past 2.5 years of active motherhood that vacations are not the same when you take children along.  {They are wonderful memory makers, but still work nonetheless!}  And I truly hope this doesn’t come across badly because I love my kids and husband TO.DEATH and if you’ve been reading here long, you know how much I desired these precious babies of mine and don’t take them for granted one single bit!  I’d give up every childless vacation if it meant having them here with me!

Anyway, when my friends and I were brainstorming possible vacation spots, we knew we had to keep it on the cheap if it was going to be doable since we are all on tight budgets.  Luckily, I have some friends who have friends that happen to live in some pretty cool places, which means we had some nice options and would not have to pay through the roof to stay there!  When Charleston was mentioned, I was totally stoked!  Back in 2010 before we had Savannah, we travelled there {you can read that post HERE} and fell in love with it, so I’ve been wanting to go back ever since!

Now that we’re getting a little closer to the trip, we have been brainstorming some fun things we could do while we are there!  We’re thinking about a beach day and plan to enjoy a fancy meal out one evening.  The rest is still pretty up in the air, but massages and food tours were mentioned.  We shall see, which is fine by me!  I am just super stoked to get away and R.E.L.A.X!  I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve truly had the time or opportunity to relax and recharge and I know my mind, body, and soul needs it badly!
So, Charleston, South Carolina, you better watch out!  We are comin’ for ya!

And if anyone has any suggestions for us, please comment!!
