Frugal Fashion Friday – The Bubble Necklace

February 21, 2014 by Sarah

I have no idea how long the bubble necklace trend has been going on, but I have definitely fallen in love with them.  A year ago I probably wouldn’t have even considered wearing one, thinking they were far too formal to make it into my “Mom wardrobe.”
I kept seeing them all over the internet though, oftentimes styled with nothing more than a plain t-shirt or a chambray shirt.  That was more my style and I slowly started to see the light.  Sometimes it was actually the bubble necklaces that made the outfits.
I finally decided to take the plunge when we were visiting Kev’s family over Christmas.  The girls have made it somewhat of a tradition to head to the Charming Charlie store at the mall when we are in town together, usually more than once.  I’m quickly falling in love with the store anyway, but was thrilled when they were having a half-off sale on their bubble necklaces {making them $10}.
I had hoped to find a bright pink one, but opted for a yellow one when there was no pink available {I’m not sure if they were sold out or they just didn’t make it in the shade of pink I was looking for}.  For one reason or another, it took me 2 months before I actually pulled it out and wore it!

I’m officially sold on the bubble necklace and wish I had worn mine earlier.  Since I have a pretty limited wardrobe, we’ll see how I can put it to good use.

As proved by Pinterest herself, it looks like these can be worn year-round.  And for $10, I may have to snag a few more colors.  Yeah!
Happy Frugal Friday, friends!

Dang it! So many colors in this necklace that all look so cute on everyone! I probably should have just bought one in every color from the start.
