Friday Favorites Link Up

August 23, 2014 by Sarah

Momfessionals

Happy Friday!

I thought it would be fun to link up with Andrea for Friday Favorites!

This week was fairly busy, but it started out with Savannah and I getting our teeth cleaned at the dentist.  Since Kev doesn’t officially go back to work until next week, he was able to keep Brady for me which meant we had a little girl outing.  It was nice to go somewhere with just Savannah and she did great, just like last time {this was her second cleaning}.  We both got new toothbrushes with pink on them.  I love being a girl mom!

I had two doctor’s appointments on Wednesday and again, Kev was a huge help by keeping both the kids for me.  He has been going into school a little this week, so he took the kids with him and they had a blast in his room.  My appointments went well {I see a high risk specialist and my regular OB during pregnancies since our first baby was an unexplained stillbirth} and I got to see our little guy on the ultrasound screen.  They are estimating his weight to be 3 lbs. 12 ounces.  I don’t do weekly belly shots, so this one was 3 weeks ago when I was 28 weeks.  I have a long way to go to be so huge!  🙂
After lots of obstacles, I was finally able to spend some time in my weekly focus room for the week.  I still haven’t decided what to do with the TV armoire, but I was able to touch up the walls with some fresh paint. {Please excuse the mess!}  The walls have taken a beating over the past 2 years and it was easier to paint than clean them.  Plus, the stairway going to the upstairs had never gotten a second coat of paint on it before we moved in, so I took the opportunity to finish that up too.  I used the same paint color since the stairs are looking into the living room.  It felt nice to get that done and I’m planning to do a couple of other small things in the room this weekend.

That’s about all I’ve got for today.  🙂
Tomorrow, Kev and I are heading to a marriage conference in town.  I’m looking forward to learning some great stuff!!
Have a great weekend!

Do you have any fun plans?

With the wider shot of your room, I have to say that 'yes, absolutely, that armoire is just too big for your space'! I think cutting it down in increments is the way to go

That's my plan, Laurinda. I am just having trouble finding a good time to do it when my husband doesn't have to work. I'm hoping maybe next weekend!! 🙂

I'm actually cleaning/dusting the ceiling fan in our guest room. I saw this tip years ago and I've been doing it ever since, although probably not as often as I should! 🤪

Snag an old pillowcase and drag it off each blade so the dust stays inside of it. Then, wash it in your next laundry load for easy clean up!

This is where the meal magic happens in our house. This is where the meal magic happens in our house. Don't ever let anyone convince you that you have to have a large (and often expensive) kitchen in order to feed your family.
.
Is there anything wrong with a large and expensive kitchen? Nope!
.
Can they be helpful? Absolutely!
.
This house was built in the 1940s and likely housed a family our size, or maybe larger. It's amazing to think how our concept of wants and needs have changed since then.

Maybe someday we'll have a larger kitchen, but for now, I'm thankful that this small kitchen allows me to have everything at my fingertips quickly! 😁
"The answer to the purposelessness and hollowness "The answer to the purposelessness and hollowness we feel is found not in us but outside of us. The solutions to our problems and pain aren't found in self-love, but in God's love.

The God who created us, who created the universe, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, is the one who provides us with the purpose and satisfaction we're seeking. While self love depletes, God's love for us doesn't. He showed us his love by sending Jesus to die for our sins so that we could be forgiven and live forever with him. Self-love is superficial and temporary. God's love is profound and eternal."

"The first myth that you are enough. My counter was this: you're not you'll never be enough, and that's okay, because God is."
