Hey friends! It’s Saturday so that means it’s another week of Ways We Save Saturday – where I share all the small and simple ways we save money throughout the week. Here goes!

1. We got 3-4 quotes before selecting a company to remove our tree
This is actually from a couple of weeks ago, but I still wanted to share about it. We recently had a large tree removed from our property and we got 3 quotes before we made our final decision.
The first person who gave us a quote was very pricey, so we wanted to get some other estimates and compare. We also didn’t hide the fact that we were getting numerous quotes because we wanted their quotes to be competitive. Although I already miss the shade from my tree, I am pleased that we got the job done for a good price.
2. I redeemed Old Navy Super Cash
I’ve still got some gaps in my wardrobe for summer, so I made sure to place my order when I knew I could redeem my Super Cash from Old Navy. I saved $30 with my Super Cash and then redeemed a $25 reward coupon.
3. I used ebates for my online purchase
As usual, I made sure to log into my ebates account when I made my Old Navy purchase. You seriously need to check out ebates! I love getting my rebate checks in the mail!
4. I took free Easter lilies to plant in our yard
When a lady from our church asked if anyone was interested in taking the leftover Easter lilies, I jumped at the opportunity right away. I’m always looking for affordable ways to add plantings to our flower beds. I hope to get them in the ground this week and see how they do! Even if they don’t make it next year, there’s no harm done since they were free!
5. I checked our fridge and pantry before grocery shopping
Last week when I grocery shopped, I ended up buying items that I didn’t need (that’s what happens when I don’t shop with a list!). I made sure to thoroughly review our pantry and fridge when making my grocery list for this week. I ended up spending a good bit less than usual because I made sure I only bought what I needed!
6. I used Target cartwheel app for kid’s clothes
I bought a couple of shirts for my kids after hearing there was a Target cartwheel offer this week. I can save a lot of money buying clothes second-hand, but there are also some great deals to be had on new clothes if you keep your eyes and ears open for deals!
7. We stuck to our budget for a birthday gift purchase
It’s no secret that we budget every month and we include a gift category in our monthly budget. This might seem frustrating to some people, but I find it to be really helpful actually.
When my kids were overwhelmed with gift options, we focused back on our budget and the money we had set aside to spend. Not only does it help us stay on track financially, but I hope it’s a good lesson for our kids.
Well, there you have it! I hope you have a great weekend!
