I don’t enjoy cooking. There, I said it. I feel better already. 😉

I wish I was one of those people who loved getting in the kitchen and creating all sorts of delectable meals. Unfortunately, that’s just not the case.

Even still, I know it’s better for my health to eat at home. And it’s most definitely better on our budget.

In fact, one of the first areas of our budget that was trimmed when I quit working full-time was our eating out budget. We ate out a lot when we both worked full time, but those times have changed.

Even though I know it’s better to eat at home, getting dinner on the table can be a real challenge if I don’t have a plan. Between after school activities and homework and basic prep for the next day, late afternoon can be chaotic at our home.

Recently, I’ve been leaning a lot on my slow cooker. I know that the Instant Pot has been the rage lately, but my slow cooker has been a godsend. I’m able to get dinner prepped with minimal time actually cooking. It’s wonderful!

Check out these links if you are in the market for a new slow cooker, or if you want to make cleanup even easier!

I am always on the hunt for new slow cooker recipes, but these 5 go-to slow cooker recipes are the ones that I reach for over and over again. My family likes them, so they are a part of our regular meal plan rotation. I hope to add more in the future as we try new ones.

Crockpot BBQ Meatballs

I discovered this recipe when looking for appetizers, but we’ve started eating it as a dinner meal. I usually serve it over rice and then throw in a veggie and/or bread, so it makes a nice meal too!

Doesn’t that picture just make your mouth water?

Easy Crockpot Cream Cheese Chicken Chili

I love a good chili, but this creamy version might be my new favorite. It has a little kick to it (which I love!) and it is loaded with flavor.

You could always reduce the spices or add a dollop of sour cream if you are concerned your kids won’t like the spice.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

I love beef stroganoff, but I don’t have the time to follow the more time consuming recipes. Thankfully, I found this slow cooker version and we LOVE it!

I serve it over egg noodles and add a veggie to round out the meal. We eat beef stroganoff so often now that I’ve found this easy recipe!

Crockpot Mexican Chicken

I’ve been making this recipe for years and it’s so versatile. We eat this on tortillas, with tortilla chips, or rice. Serve it whichever way suits you or vary it if you have leftovers (we usually do!).

Slow Cooker Beef Roast and Carrots

This slow cooker beef roast and carrots recipe is simple and easy to make, but delicious! I sometimes add in potatoes, so it ends up being a one pot meal. The flavors of the meat make the veggies melt in your mouth.

Whether it’s summer or fall, these 5 go-to slow cooker recipes are staples in our home. They make dinner time so much easier, they taste good, so we go back to them time after time!
