Halloween 2014

November 1, 2014 by Sarah

This year's Halloween costumes were a no-brainer.  Savannah has been obsessed with the movie Frozen ever since she saw it in the theater last winter.  Rather than try and lead her in a more creative direction, we just went with it!   She was very specific though.  She wanted to dress up like Princess Anna in her coronation dress.  I opted to purchase it from Target … [Read more...]

Welcome, Davis John Eddins! {Davis’ Birth Story}

October 17, 2014 by Sarah

I have a feeling that this post won't get all that many page views, but it's totally fine with me because this post is more for me than anyone else.  These days, if there's anything I want to remember, I had better write it down, or better yet, blog about it. So, before time get too far away from me and my memory fails me, I figured I'd better jot down some of the details of our little Davis' … [Read more...]

Brady’s 2nd Birthday Celebration {Chuck E. Cheese Style}

October 10, 2014 by Sarah

This year, we decided to keep Brady's birthday celebration low key.  Who am I kidding though?  We keep most things low-key these days.  Being this pregnant will do it to you!  :-) Since we took Savannah to Chuck E. Cheese when she turned two years old, we opted to keep the tradition alive for Brady as well. We had just seen my side of the family for my niece's birthday the … [Read more...]

Brady at 2 years

October 9, 2014 by Sarah

Life is about to get a little bit more crazy and I didn't want to let this milestone slip past without posting.  Our Brady Boo turned 2 years old earlier this week and it's so hard to believe how quickly he's grown.  The time has flown by faster than I imagined! Here is what you are up to these days. *  You drink from a cup, but still will use sippys or straws if we have them. … [Read more...]

Our Family of Four Living on a Teacher’s Salary

October 2, 2014 by Sarah

{UPDATE: We are now a family of five, but the principles are still the same.} I consider it a blessing to be able to have the option to stay at home with our children.  I know that it's not always a possibility for families, so I'm thankful that it is a choice for us.  Also, I must acknowledge that many people have helped us along the way to make it so we are even in the position to make this … [Read more...]

I'm actually cleaning/dusting the ceiling fan in our guest room. I saw this tip years ago and I've been doing it ever since, although probably not as often as I should! 🤪

Snag an old pillowcase and drag it off each blade so the dust stays inside of it. Then, wash it in your next laundry load for easy clean up!

This is where the meal magic happens in our house. This is where the meal magic happens in our house. Don't ever let anyone convince you that you have to have a large (and often expensive) kitchen in order to feed your family.
.
Is there anything wrong with a large and expensive kitchen? Nope!
.
Can they be helpful?  Absolutely!
.
This house was built in the 1940s and likely housed a family our size, or maybe larger. It's amazing to think how our concept of wants and needs have changed since then.
.
Maybe someday we'll have a larger kitchen, but for now, I'm thankful that this small kitchen allows me to have everything at my fingertips quickly! 😁
"The answer to the purposelessness and hollowness "The answer to the purposelessness and hollowness we feel is found not in us but outside of us. The solutions to our problems and pain aren't found in self-love, but in God's love.

The God who created us, who created the universe, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, is the one who provides us with the purpose and satisfaction we're seeking. While self love depletes, God's love for us doesn't. He showed us his love by sending Jesus to die for our sins so that we could be forgiven and live forever with him. Self-love is superficial and temporary. God's love is profound and eternal."

"The first myth that you are enough. My counter was this: you're not you'll never be enough, and that's okay, because God is."
