Savannah’s 4th Birthday Celebration {Sesame Street Style}

December 12, 2014 by Sarah

I originally thought we’d let this be the first year we did a “friend” party for Savannah, but it ended up being too much for this sleep deprived mama of a newborn.  I just couldn’t get it together, so we’ll have to wait until next year.  Instead, we opted for a family birthday celebration.  We made an entire day out of it, which was so nice.

We started the day with the “Sesame Street Live” show.  Kevin took off a day of work {since it happened to be his birthday as well} so that we could enjoy the show as a family during the day.  We were actually a little bit late because I managed to leave the tickets at home and didn’t realize it until we were about to park.  We made it back home and then back downtown, only missing about 10 minutes.

Savannah loved the show and was super attentive the entire time.  Brady was enthralled for the majority of the show, but got a little restless for the last 15 minutes or so.  Luckily, Davis slept in the Baby Bjorn the entire time!  ðŸ™‚  I’d definitely recommend the show and Savannah is already asking if we can go again next year.

After the show, we picked up my grandmother and we all went out to lunch at Red Robin.  We let Kevin pick the restaurant since it was his special day too, but it works out well since it’s such a kid-friendly restaurant.

After dinner, we let Savannah open up our present to her.  She seemed happy to add some costumes to her growing collection.

We had some birthday cake after bath time and were surprised by a quick visit from one of Savannah’s friends who stopped by to drop off a gift for her.  It was a sweet surprise from a sweet little friend.

Our day wasn’t anything large and elaborate, but it was so special and we made some priceless memories as a family.
I’m so thankful for my 2 birthday buddies!
