Our Busy Weekend

May 21, 2013 by Sarah

When I heard that our students at church were hosting a childcare fundraiser (for their summer missions trip) this past Friday night, I was psyched.  I signed them up the same day that I heard about it…didn’t even bother talking to Kev about it! Ha!

With all the potty training craziness recently, I was especially anxious to get some time alone with Kev.  I was practically giddy all week long.  I started counting down the hours around lunchtime on Friday!

We dropped the kids off a little after 6pm and headed out to Bertucci’s Restaurant for an appetizer and dessert. We had eaten as a family before we dropped the kids off, but still wanted to get a little something while we were out!

Kev opted for the Tiramisu and I ordered the chocolate cake.  You can’t go wrong with chocolate cake, right?

I should have stopped there (or maybe even earlier than that), but I didn’t.  I stuffed it all in and somewhat regretted it later!  My tummy was not happy with me the rest of the night!

Since our small group Bible study typically meets on Friday nights, we had planned to meet up as a group later in the evening for some bowling.  Some of the couples couldn’t make it after all, so we ended up walking around in Carytown with 1 of the couples from our group.  It was a beautiful night and we enjoyed some funny photos outside one of the tattoo parlors!

We totally looked like tourists, but it made for a fun time!  I felt like I was back in college again because this was totally our old stompin’ grounds back in the day!  10 years ago to be exact!

On Saturday evening, we joined some other friends at the Lebanese Food Festival!  It was rainy early in the day and we were afraid it would be too yucky to enjoy it, but the rain stopped and we were able to go after all!  It was wet, but we had a lot of fun trying some new foods and enjoying good company!  We forgot to take some pictures, but we had good intentions!  Maybe next year!

Between church and church obligations, our Sunday was a doozy!  I don’t think we sat down on our couch for a break until our kids were in bed!  It was a super busy weekend, but I’m so glad we did some fun things to enjoy it!

How was your weekend?
