What a special weekend we had! It would only be fitting for our first weekend in June to be as full and fun-filled as our weekends in May have been!
Our time at small group on Friday was so special. After our group time, we had a special time around the fire pit bearing witness to one of God’s modern day miracles! When we had moments of doubt, God proved to all of us that He is still in the healing business…lawyers and separation papers cannot stop what God can do to restore relationships! Praise God for His work and letting us bear witness to it! I know in my heart that burning those separation papers was a sweet aroma to the Lord!
On Saturday morning, I headed over to University of Richmond (my alma mater) to enjoy some 10 year reunion-ing with some dear college friends. We may live in different places and be in different circles now, but I still hold them near and dear to my heart. In many ways, we grew up together! My college years were so fun and I feel like my time at UR was so crucial in my overall growth as a person (especially spiritually). I wish that more could have joined us, but it was truly such a special time! By the end of our brunch at d-hall, Savannah would not walk with me but insisted on holding Jenny’s hand! 🙂
Later that day, one of my college roommates and her husband made it down. They stayed with us and we enjoyed visiting with them. It was a fairly quick trip, but still such a fun time! Savannah asked for them as soon as she woke up on Sunday, so they clearly made an impression on her! Of course, as soon as they drove off, I realized I didn’t get a picture with them!! 🙁
And if I wasn’t already feeling old after being back on my college campus pushing a double stroller, we enjoyed a graduation party late on Saturday afternoon. It’s neat to think back to where I was at that age and to see where God has brought me, and then wonder where He will take me next. There’s something about reunions and graduations that gets me a little nostalgic and contemplative.
We had such a wonderful weekend that I hated to see it end!
