If you couldn’t tell by the title of today’s post, I have a love/hate relationship with Sundays. Poor thing, Sunday hasn’t done anything wrong, but I guess it comes with the territory of being the last day of the weekend.
While I love that we get time with our church family on Sunday mornings {even though it’s harder and harder to get a Sunday church picture these days}, I hate that Sunday means the weekend is coming to an end. Today was a little tougher since it was also the day before Kev has to report back to school full-time. Last week’s time up at school was just for himself, but tomorrow, he’s officially on the clock!
I was sort of hoping we could have done something extra fun altogether as a family to end our summer with a bang. Kev had to work at his part-time job this weekend, so family time with all of us was hard to come by this weekend. After myself and the kids enjoyed a fun morning with a friend and her kids, we did manage to visit Kev up at the new model home they just opened. I gave myself a quick tour {since he was busy at the time} and was really impressed. Savannah loves visiting her Daddy at work, so she was in heaven!
I got a little shopping done last night while Kev stayed at home with the kids. I was planning to window-shop only, but I saw a few great deals that I knew I’d kick myself over if I passed up. I have a habit of keeping tags on things for at least 3 days to make sure I don’t have buyer’s remorse, but I already removed the tags from 1 of the items since I wore them to church today – ha! Check back on Friday for “Frugal Fashion Friday” if you want to see one of the outfits.
Oh, and we also had this for dinner! This is the easiest pizza dough recipe I’ve used and it makes for a great weekend meal. I’ll post the recipe this week in case you’re interested.
Other than a church obligation this evening, our Sunday was pretty peaceful, which is just how I like it. If Monday has to roll around anyway, I might as well enjoy every last quiet moment that Sunday has to offer!
I hope your weekend was great! What did you do?
Fondly,
