Spring Haircuts

May 7, 2014 by Sarah

In early April, I took the kids to get haircuts.  Savannah has only had 1 haircut and we were going on a year, so she was definitely in need.  Brady had a little trim at Christmastime, but needed a good shape up.  I was getting a little tired of hearing the mullet remarks, even though I thought it was the cutest little mullet ever.

I took the kids to Ms. Betty’s, who is a sweet friend from church who takes great care of the little ones in the nursery.  I figured it might help Brady a bit by going to someone he sees every week anyway.

It turned out that we couldn’t get a smile out of him.
He pretty much had this look on his face the entire time, but at least he sat still while she trimmed him up.

Savannah went next and did great.  Ms. Betty offered to curl her hair afterwards and she looked like such a big girl afterwards.  It was so cute, but I was sort of glad to have my baby back that night after bath time.  ðŸ™‚

I can already see that haircuts will have to be more frequent with our little man – either that or I’ll have to learn to trim his hair myself.
I have memories of my mom getting halfway through cutting my sister’s hair and then freaking out and driving straight to the salon for them to finish it, so I have no desire to start trimming their hair anytime soon.

Do you cute your children’s hair?

Or do you leave it up to the professionals?

Karlena's hair really needs to be trimmed…but I am hesitant to cut any of it off…probably because I am living the life I never got with beautiful straight long hair, through her! 🙂 ha! We take our boys in every 5 weeks for cuts because their hair grows so fast!!

I totally get it, Kristin! You can get away with it so much better with girls!! I can't believe you take the boys every 5 weeks, although I am starting to understand why. Brady's hair is starting to get long around his ears again already!! I so need to buy some shears and trim him at home! Between the amount of food I'm expecting him to consume when he's a teenager and haircuts, he's going to break the bank!
