Savannah at 15 Months

March 11, 2012 by Sarah

Look who is now 15 months old!  Where, oh, where is the time going?  So sad, but so fun at the same time!  Here is a rundown of some of what you are up to these days!

* You are a great eater!  You eat most everything we offer you, as long as it isn’t super spicey.  Some of your favorites are oatmeal, grilled cheese sandwiches, cheese quesadillas, mac n cheese, peaches, bananas, pears, sweet peas, and carrots.  You basically just eat what we eat, which has been so nice!  You also like your sweets too, but we try to keep them to a minimum!  You continue to love milk, but also enjoy some cold water as well!

 * You have been busy getting some new teeth!  You got 2 new teeth on the bottom, and then your 1 year molars both emerged next!  You also happen to love brushing your teeth (or rather chew on the toothbrush and eat the toothpaste- please ignore the bedhead)!

* You are still a great sleeper at night – usually 12 hours each night. We are so thankful and pray it continues for a long time!

* You are in the transition phase as far as naps go.  Most days, you still need a short catnap in the morning, but sometimes you will boycott it or you simply don’t get it because we are out.  You can do okay without it for a day or so, but will then need it the next day.

*You are still wearing size 4 diapers.

*You are wearing 18 months clothes and size 5 shoe.

*You are 32 in. long (75-90%) and weigh 23 lbs. 7 ozs (50%). You continue to be long and lean!

*You are a great walker and have seemed to move on to climbing now!  You love to climb up and down steps, and we are trying to teach you how to do it safely!  You also enjoy trying to climb up into chairs!
* You continue to get into EVERYTHING! You enjoy being outdoors, but can also entertain yourself pretty well inside too!  You also love keys, cell phones, and remotes!
*You are talking up a storm! I don’t understand a lot of it, but you can say Mama, Dada, yes, and shoes.  You are probably saying more, but I haven’t quite grasped your language yet!  You still sign some words like more, thank you, milk, and all done.  You may not be talking a ton yet, but you understand so much!
Overall, you are such a happy baby (or toddler I guess I should say) and have been a true joy!  We love you more than we ever thought possible!

Any guesses as to what I'm doing here? I promise, Any guesses as to what I'm doing here? I promise, the kids did not play a prank on me! 😂

I'm actually cleaning/dusting the ceiling fan in our guest room. I saw this tip years ago and I've been doing it ever since, although probably not as often as I should! 🤪
.
Snag an old pillowcase and drag it off each blade so the dust stays inside of it. Then, wash it in your next laundry load for easy clean up!

This is where the meal magic happens in our house. This is where the meal magic happens in our house. Don't ever let anyone convince you that you have to have a large (and often expensive) kitchen in order to feed your family.
.
Is there anything wrong with a large and expensive kitchen? Nope!
.
Can they be helpful? Absolutely!
.
This house was built in the 1940s and likely housed a family our size, or maybe larger. It's amazing to think how our concept of wants and needs have changed since then.
.
Maybe someday we'll have a larger kitchen, but for now, I'm thankful that this small kitchen allows me to have everything at my fingertips quickly! 😁
"The answer to the purposelessness and hollowness "The answer to the purposelessness and hollowness we feel is found not in us but outside of us. The solutions to our problems and pain aren't found in self-love, but in God's love.

The God who created us, who created the universe, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, is the one who provides us with the purpose and satisfaction we're seeking. While self love depletes, God's love for us doesn't. He showed us his love by sending Jesus to die for our sins so that we could be forgiven and live forever with him. Self-love is superficial and temporary. God's love is profound and eternal."

"The first myth that you are enough. My counter was this: you're not you'll never be enough, and that's okay, because God is."
