Our Labor Day Weekend 2013

September 2, 2013 by Sarah

I wanted to stop in real quick to say hey and let you know a little of what we’ve been up to this weekend.  While my instinct is to share every detail about our weekend, it dawned on me that since it is a federal holiday, perhaps it was okay for me to keep today’s post short and sweet so I can enjoy my “day off” as well!

Here are the quick highlights:

Friday:
I spent a lot of time working on my home organization binder.  I know I said I’d share my binder and my morning routine plan with you today, but it’ll have to wait until NEXT Monday!  I know it’ll be hard to wait, but you’ll be okay.  πŸ™‚

Saturday:
Kev and I enjoyed a little date night courtesy of a sweet friend from church.  The kids had a great time and it was hysterical hearing about her night with them when we got back home.  No pictures since I forgot my camera at home.  πŸ™

Sunday:
We enjoyed our church’s annual picnic last night.  It was nice to catch up with folks since summer has been busy, busy, busy.  I’m looking forward to spending more time with more friends as things settle down this fall.

We are planning to head to the park this afternoon/early evening after the kids wake from naps.  It should be fun.  I may even have to sneak in a trip to Old Navy because I heard their entire store is 30% off.  I think the denim shirt purchase may be happening today, folks!!  πŸ™‚

I sincerely hope you’ve had an enjoyable Labor Day weekend as well.  I’m sad to see summer officially go, but it just means that cooler weather is around the corner!

Just got back from there and it was super hard deciding what to get b/c I liked so much! Finally got the denim shirt (opted for the lighter shade) and a couple other things, but I fell in love with a cute pair of leopard print flats. Did those happen to be one of your pairs of shoes? πŸ™‚

i didn't get the leopard flats, but i did get 2 other pairs: a pair of navy ballet flats and a pair of those faux-suede penny loafers in khaki. oh my gosh, they are so comfortable! i got a chambray shirt from there last fall in the lighter shade too. trust me, you can wear it with everything! it even looks cute with a dress, left open, and with a skinny belt. try it sometime!

I'll have to try on the penny loafers next time. I'll have to try your suggestion for the denim shirt! I can't wait to get some use out of it.
