They are here! The Baltimore cousins finally arrived after what may have been their longest travel time to date. I always feel so bad when it takes them a minimum of 4 hours (5.5 hours for them today) to get down to us, but usually only 3 hours for us traveling north. They always get the short end of the stick, it seems.
Well, the day was fairly low key until they arrived. Then this house was a rockin’ and a rollin’! Phew! I’m just now settling down from the mayhem that ensued. Savannah has some good life lessons to learn the rest of the week – things like sharing toys (it’s harder to steal her cousin’s toys when he’s practically her age and not as helpless as her 9 month old brother) and maybe how to have a sleepover with your older girl cousin that doesn’t result in hurt feelings and perhaps some discipline. It should be a fun few days.
I snapped a few pics of them together after they had destroyed played in Savannah’s bedroom. It was a cute little moment. We don’t have any major plans for their visit, but it’ll just be nice to be together.
And in case you were wondering how the window in Brady’s room turned out, here’s the after shot!
Nothing major, but it certainly does beat a primed window and a blanket as a window covering. I also want to point out the green pillow you see in that rocking chair because is one of the most thoughtful gifts I’ve ever received. I received it on my first Mother’s Day without Andrew. It is a picture of his silhouette and was stenciled on the green fabric, which represents his birth month (Peridot is August’s birthstone). I treasure it so much and love using it in Brady’s room. {Thank you again, sweet friend! You know who you are!}
How was your Hump Day?
