Tim…ber!

June 21, 2013 by Sarah

Earlier this week, our house was probably quite the sight for all the cars on our busy street!  With this being Kev’s first week off and his father being in town (and the help of a dear friend), it was the perfect time for a tree to come down.

Kev and I have been discussing all the trees on our property for months now, and sometimes the conversations got a little “exciting.”  He tends to want to cut almost all of them down and has a long list of reasons why.  I, on the other hand, tend to want to try and salvage as many trees as possible and simply go the hard pruning route.

After all, the previous owners of this house neglected the outside just as much as they had neglected the inside. We really don’t even know how potential these trees could have!  But, since Kev has been after me about prepping for a driveway to run along the left side of the house, right in the path of one of the cedars, I knew it had to come down.

They did a fabulous job, but as you can see, there was a ton of brush and limbs to clean up!  Here are a few different angles to give you an idea.

Here’s the final shot with all the brush and limbs removed.  They also limbed up the cedar on the left quite a bit.  They took down the dead branches and I’m hoping it will fill in nicely over time!

Kev is still not a fan of cedar trees, but I’m hoping that this one will surprise him!  I was surprised at how much more sun the front gets without it!
