Random Painting Projects

July 10, 2013 by Sarah

How was your Tuesday?  Mine was good, but a little unexciting.  That’s okay though.  As I mentioned yesterday, I started off my week a little behind, so it’s meant playing catch up!  I hate that!

My family decided to come to Richmond tomorrow instead of today, which actually worked out for the best for all of us.  They had a lot going on in Baltimore and sort of needed the extra time to get ready for the trip down, and I sort of needed the extra time to get some groceries up in here!

So, I spent the morning making my menu for the week and my grocery list.  I had planned to head directly to the grocery store once Kev got home from work (I don’t know about you, but I really try to avoid taking both kids to the grocery store), but got completely sidetracked with a mini project.  I’m usually a huge planner, but sometimes I can get a little A.D.D. just like my hubs!  🙂

It all started when I was up in Brady’s room with the kids after they had woken up from their naps.  While I was changing Brady’s diaper, I looked up at the window in his room and noticed for the 1000th time how I needed to finishing painting it so I could hang the curtain and purchase the final set of blinds (I am embarrassed to admit that I have been using a blanket in his window until this point!).  I don’t know if y’all have little projects like that in your house that just nag at you, but there numerous ones in our home that just didn’t get done before Brady arrived!

For whatever reason, when I looked at that window, I had an epiphany that today needed to be the day for that window to get painted.  So, at around 4:30 or so, I broke out the white semi-gloss paint and painted that window!

And since I had the paint already opened, it meant I touched up a couple of spots in Savannah’s room too!

Savannah was with me the entire time and played as I painted.  I had to remind her numerous times to keep far away from the paint, but it worked out fine.

My plans for making broccoli casserole went out the window and it was sandwiches for all of us!  But, the window is done and should be ready for curtain and blinds by the morning!  And no fear, I made my trip to Kroger eventually and even got to grab some coffee with a friend!
